Our Vision
We started North State Academy out of a dream to allow homeschooled athletes to compete against other schools in all sports. That dream has evolved to include unique educational curriculums such as business, accounting & finance, and various trade co-operatives, in hopes of providing real-world education for local student-athletes. We are still very early in that journey, but please join us as we continue to grow and create new opportunities for students.
Meet the Coach
John Paul Buckley grew up in Mississippi with a strong passion for sports and the outdoors. A four-sport high school athlete, he earned All-State honors in football, All-South State honors in basketball, and was a State Champion sprinter in track (and played tennis for fun ). After high school, he continued his athletic career in Football as a wide receiver at Mississippi State University.
Since his playing days, John Paul has coached high school football and track and has spent the past five years coaching each of his four children in various youth sports. His commitment to building character through competition is a core foundation of the North State program
